Timeraiser YQR is a silent art auction where attendees bid volunteer time, not dollars, for original art. Each year, Timeraiser YQR supports emerging Saskatchewan artists and non-profit organizations by meaningfully connecting art, Canadians and the causes they care about in a celebration of creativity and community. All across Saskatchewan, artists are paid for their work, nonprofits find skilled volunteers, and motivated community members find meaningful volunteer opportunities as well as the opportunity to own an original piece of art. The Timeraiser YQR initiative aims to promote the culture of volunteerism and assist in building the capacity of nonprofits right here in Saskatchewan, as well as celebrating and supporting artists across the province and encouraging a new generation of arts patrons. Since 2003, national Timeraiser events have invested over $1,000,000 in 1100 Canadian artists, raised more than 200,000 volunteer hours, and impacted 1300 nonprofit organizations.
