Wednesday Wax is back after going incognito last week. Life got in the way. But another edition is here and we’re taking a look at a 70’s classic. Steely Dan – Can’t Buy A Thrill.
Released in 1972, Can’t Buy A Thrill is Steely Dan’s debut album and in my opinion is their best and showcases the genius songwriting of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen.
Combining jazz, soft rock and even some Latin elements, you can throw this album on and either mellow out or throw it on while you’re hosting a get together.
Commercially it was successful, peaking at #17 on the Billboard Top LP’s chart and produced two radio hits – Do It Again & Reelin’ In The Years.
