If you grew up in Canada, there’s a good chance you remember Minute Maid frozen juice sitting in the freezer beside the fries and ice cream. It wasn’t fancy, but it worked. Crack open the can, add water, stir vigorously and done.
Those days are coming to an end sadly. Minute Maid is disappearing from Canadian grocery stores. People just aren’t buying it anymore, choosing ready to drink juices and other beverages instead. The brand’s frozen canned orange juice, lemonade, Fruitopia fruit punch and Five Alive juice blend will be discontinued by April.
Man, I tell you, I haven’t bought any of them in a hot minute, but for some reason I don’t want them to go away completely. They were simple and easily available. Best used to quench the thirst on a hot summer day. Maybe add in some booze to spice up the party a bit. As well, the best part of all, the sluuuuurp sound it made when you dumped it into the jug. Definitely going to stock up on a bunch before April.
