Back for another edition of Wednesday Wax. Not the type that rips the hairs of your chest either. The cool kind of wax, vinyl!
This week I feature a true gem, a classic from 1975. Bad Company – Straight Shooter. The album cover is eye catching in itself, but the tunes on it are really what makes it a staple in any record collection. The track “Shooting Star” (written by lead singer Paul Rodgers) was inspired by the drug and alcohol related deaths of guitarist Jimi Hendrix and other rock musicians.
Then you’ve got one of their most commercially successful tracks, “Feel Like Makin’ Love” which I believe is one of the best songs sang by Paul Rodgers. Straight Shooter would reach number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Track List:
Good Lovin’ Gone Bad
Feel Like Makin’ Love
Weep No More
Shooting Star
Deal with the Preacher
Wild Fire Woman
Anna
