Sources say Utah Jazz owner, Ryan Smith is close to locking up a $1 billion deal to purchase the Arizona Coyotes and relocate them to Salt Lake City.

The team has also gone quiet on social media since the release of this statement (as of Monday afternoon).

Allegedly, the current ownership group is set to keep the ‘Coyotes’ name and will have five years to work toward a new arena for an expansion team in Arizona.

The Coyotes are expected to play what could be their final game at Mullet Arena this Wednesday (April 17) against the Edmonton Oilers.

You have to feel for the fans… Following the team to a university rink with the same seating capacity as a WHL team. However, If what’s being reported is true… it’s not all over for Yotes fans and the team could be back via expansion.
