A little extra in the upcoming Scorpions box set.

The Scorpions are getting set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1991 hit,”Wind of Change” by releasing a box set. Instead of the usual band flag or guitar pic that usually comes with these limited releases, they are including a piece of the Berlin Wall.

Klaus Meine wrote the song in response to the massive political and social changes that were taking over communist countries like Germany and the Soviet union. The song ended up becoming retroactively associated with the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989.

The box set will be limited to just 2020 copies and will feature five different versions of the song on both CD and vinyl, including a previously unreleased demo version. In addition to the piece of the Berlin Wall, which has been customized with the red “Wind of Change” star and handwritten lyric by Meine, the set will also include an 84-page hardcover book featuring exclusive pictures and the story of the songs creation.
