Fall

October 4th, 2008

Fall has fallen upon us! Isn’t it beautiful outside?

This past week, I actually got the chance to go down to Wascana by the CAC for a few hours with a friend visiting and enjoy the fall colors - it was stunning! Fall is my favorite season; with Halloween being my 2nd favorite holiday. Which poses my 2nd question …

What should I be for Halloween this year?
Any suggestions?
I know you totally have suggestions, I wanna hear em! ;)

Amanda

This is getting ridiculous!

September 22nd, 2008

Reports have surfaced of yet another bus stabbing.

Horrible.

I was working Buffalo Days when the first bus stabbing occurred and it was messed up because everyone who worked there knew the victim. It was heartbreaking.

I have never considered Greyhound to be unsafe. I rode the Greyhound bus last summer & had no problems what so ever.

There are cases where it could be a one-time thing - a coincidence - but it’s happened again & it’s unacceptable! They need to up their security measures or something. How do you think Greyhound can improve their services?

Special Friday

September 18th, 2008

Do you know tomorrow is special?

Well, first the Grindhouse premieres hosted by the one & only Evan Baron at 11pm (the Wolf’s new Metal Show) and I get to hang out with you from noon - 6! How fun is that!? I’m super pumped to hang out with the Wolf listeners in the Friday afternoon sector - it’s gonna be goodtimes ;)

Make sure to keep an ear out for AC/DC’s Rock & Roll Train to get on the Rock & Roll Plane (Remember: that contest only runs Mon-Fri, 6am-6pm) and the Wolf Jet 122.

Wolf Jet 122 is also going to be flying over twice on the weekends now, just the heads up ;)

Till tomorrow!

Cheers,
Amanda

Car Wash

September 12th, 2008

Since it’s so beautiful today, I decided to get my jog on & go for a run (which is surprising for me because I do not run). Then I proceeded with my errands: filling up my car (OUCH @ GAS PRICES), and I decided to go for a car wash. I was feeling ambitious so I was going to do the wand wash where you do it yourself. I get to the wash on Park St and there’s only 1/3 washes working! And of course it’s occupied - how frustrating! Seeing as how I still don’t know too many people here in Regina, I called my man to find out if he knew where any was only to get his voicemail (big help, as always lol - jk)… and that brings me up to now, googling car washes in Regina so I thought I’d put it out there -

Where are the car washes in Regina?

My car is dirty like it’s owner ;)

Cheers,
Amanda

Update: I found one at Albert & 7th! Thanks Jason!

9/11: Remembered Always

September 11th, 2008

I’m not going to start off this post with a detailed version of where I was on September 11th (Readers Digest Version: I was playing hooky from school, asleep in bed). Everyone remembers where they were on September 11th; it’s a day I’m sure many will never forget. Today let’s remember those lost in the tragic events that occurred & the heroic ones who lost their lives to save others.

Huge congratulations goes out to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for beating the sh*t out of Bombers!

I don’t think I’ve ever experienced football in any means as it was portrayed this weekend … and it was fantastic! Back at home, we have our labour day game (Hamilton vs. Toronto - I’m wearing an Argo shirt as I write this, sorry Oskie Wee Wee) but it is nothing in comparison to the last 2 days. I had no idea what I was getting in for Friday when the bomber fans slowly started to trickle in … then BAM!

Next thing I know, I have Bomber fans dressed to the max walking by Century Studios … getting phone calls about how they bannered the “Welcome to Regina” sign on Vic East … seeing Bomber flags hung from hotel balconies & hearing about how they were standing on corners getting people to cheer for them (I wonder how many bomber fans got the finger this weekend - lol! Um, all of them?)

The Rider fans were on call though. I put it out on the air to get the Bomber fans off of the streets & that’s what they did - including beating their ass at the Labour Day Classic.

I’ve concluded that pretty much every hardcore Rider fan comes out for the Labour Day classic. The characters that I saw down on the practice field - My Oh my! Shrek … Star Wars Characters … Rider Ninja Turtles and this guy …

Go Riders!
